The castle is made from hard felt, but you can also use corrugated boxes or foam rubber. We used 5 pieces: a round "tower" for the head, two flat "walls" for chest and back, and a wider round wall made from two peaces of felt, with smaller towers on each side. Holes are punctured in corners of all pieces, and a cord is used to hold them together and as shoulder straps. The crown and walls are decorated with natural and toy shells, starfish and crabs; embrasures are drawn with a black marker; small flags are made from cardboard and drinking straws; pieces of a green string resemble seaweeds.
